What is Storage?

Storage holds the computers Operating System (windows 10 or MacOs) along with program and personal files.

Types of Storage

M.2 factor (This form factor connects the storage directly to the motherboard.)

• Nvme
• Fastest of the bunch. Nvme storage can reach speeds of 7,000 MB
• SSD
• M.2 SSD uses the compact form factor of the m.2 drive but has the same hardware of a 2.5 inch drive.
• SSD's usually have a max speed of 560 MB/s.
• Optane
• Optane is great for budget builds because it helps speed up HDD's with the use of ram.

2.5 inch drive (This form factor is a 2.5 inch drive uses a sata cable to connect to the motherboard.)
