Short Bio
Dr. Chengwei Lei is a Associate Professor in the Department of Computer & Electrical Engineering/Computer Science at California State University, Bakersfield. He joined the department as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2016. His research interests lie in the broad area of bigdata analysis, large scale data mining, bioinformatics, network topology analysis, smart grid, and power grid risk evaluation.
Before that, Dr. Chengwei Lei worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at McNeese State University since Fall 2014.
As a believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Lei finished his MBA from the School of Business and Public Administration in California State University, Bakersfield, in August 2022.
Dr. Chengwei Lei received his Ph.D. in August 2014 from the Department of Computer Science in The University of Texas at San Antonio, under the supervision of Dr. Jianhua Ruan. Before that, he received his M.S. in Computer Science from University of Texas at San Antonio(2008), B.E.in Computer Science and Engineering from Beihang University(2005), and B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Beihang University(2005).
